{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-42.742","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 42.742","heading":"Duties of Geographic Information Advisory Council.","body":"(1) The Geographic Information Advisory Council's duties shall include the following:\n(a) Recommending the development and adoption of policies and procedures\nrelated to geographic information and geographic information systems;\n(b) Providing input and recomme ndations for the development of a strategy for\nthe maintenance and funding of a statewide base map and geographic\ninformation system;\n(c) Recommending standards on geographic information and geographic\ninformation systems for inclusion in the statewide architecture;\n(d) Contributing to the development and delivery of a statewide geographic\ninformation plan;\n(e) Recommending policies and procedures that ensure that the geographic\ninformation clearinghouse maintained by the Division of Geographic\nInformation Systems meets the needs of all state agencies;\n(f) Overseeing the development of operating policies and procedures for the\nmanagement of the council and any standing or ad hoc committees and\nassociated advisory groups; and\n(g) Promoting collaboration and the sharing of data and data development, as well\nas other aspects of geographic information systems.\n(2) The Division of Geographic Information Systems shall provide necessary staff\nsupport services to the council.
