{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-42.744","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 42.744","heading":"Addition of nonlicensed raster -based datasets of publicly funded Kentucky","body":"locations to the Geospatial Data Warehouse -- Exceptions -- Confidentiality.\n(1) All entities in Kentucky that create or purchase digital ortho -rectified aerial\nimagery, remotely sensed imagery, LiDAR, digital elevation models, or any other\nform of nonlicensed raster -based datasets of locations in Kentucky using public\nfunds, in whole or in part, shall provide a copy of the information to the\nCommonwealth Office o f Technology, Division of Geographic Information\nSystems, without cost, in order to allow the Commonwealth Office of Technology\nto effectively discharge its statutory responsibility to maintain an accurate and\ncomplete central statewide geographic informat ion clearinghouse for official state\nuse. The imagery provided to the Commonwealth Office of Technology shall be\nadded to Kentucky's secure Geospatial Data Warehouse for official government use\nonly.\n(2) All entities in Kentucky that create or purchase dig ital ortho -rectified aerial\nimagery, remotely sensed imagery, LiDAR, digital elevation models, or any other\nform of raster-based datasets of locations in Kentucky using public funds, in whole\nor in part, shall create or purchase that information in a nonli censed format\nwhenever such a format is available.\n(3) Subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to roads, land parcels, structure\nlocations, or other vector-based datasets acquired with public funding.\n(4) The Commonwealth Office of Technology shall not disclose to the general public or\nmake available for distribution, download, or purchase any data that an entity\nproviding data under subsection (1) of this section has requested remain\nconfidential.","path":["KRS Chapter 42"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53180","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:03Z","sha256":"b42e0ec48489a88285bd6b3fa89e5e7c51887ec58cc10289c9cc6a9b7e6c561b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-42.742","next":"us-ky/krs-42.746"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
