{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-421.620","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 421.620","heading":"Court order.","body":"If at the hearing the judge determines that the witness may be material and necessary, that\nhis attending and testifying are not adverse to the interests of this state or to the health or\nlegal rights of the witness, that the laws of the state in which he is requested to testify will\ngive him protection from arrest and the service of civil and criminal process because of\nany act committed prior to his arrival in the state under the order, and that as a practical\nmatter the possibility is negligible that the  witness may be subject to arrest or to the\nservice of civil or criminal process in any state through which he will be required to pass,\nthe judge shall issue an order, with a copy of the certificate attached, directing the witness\nto attend and testify, directing the person having custody of the witness to produce him, in\nthe court where the criminal action is pending, or where the grand jury investigation is\npending, at a time and place specified in the order, and prescribing such conditions as the\njudge shall determine.","path":["KRS Chapter 421"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18087","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:39Z","sha256":"a195251f10686267d26000c67c2ef5e7398e4443ccc19d16f91e1f6695fcd8aa","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-421.610","next":"us-ky/krs-421.630"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
