{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-423.150","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 423.150","heading":"Certificate of acknowledgment.","body":"The words \"acknowledged before me\" mean:\n(1) That the person acknowledging appeared before the person taking the\nacknowledgment;\n(2) That he acknowledged he executed the instrument;\n(3) That, in the case of:\n(a) A natural person, he executed the instrument for the purposes therein stated;\n(b) A corporation, the officer or agent acknowledged he held the position or title\nset forth in the instrument and certificate, he signed the instrument on behalf\nof the corporation by proper authority, and the instrument was the act of the\ncorporation for the purpose therein stated;\n(c) A partnership, the partner or agent acknowledged he signed the instrument on\nbehalf of the partnership by proper authority and he executed the instrument as\nthe act of the partnership for the purpose therein stated;\n(d) A person ackn owledging as principal by an attorney in fact, he executed the\ninstrument by proper authority as the act of the principal for the purposes\ntherein stated;\n(e) A person acknowledging as a public officer, trustee, administrator, guardian,\nor other representa tive, he signed the instrument by proper authority and he\nexecuted the instrument in the capacity and for the purposes therein stated;\nand\n(4) That the person taking the acknowledgment either knew or had satisfactory\nevidence that the person acknowledging was the person named in the instrument or\ncertificate.","path":["KRS Chapter 423"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18236","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:40Z","sha256":"c96531a05dfc0062610f41f2413ed0d08458031052fe25885f0a3961d9230f62","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-423.140","next":"us-ky/krs-423.160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
