{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-424.160","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 424.160","heading":"Rates for newspaper advertising required by law.","body":"(1) For all newspaper advertising required by law, the publisher is entitled to receive\npayment for each insertion at a rate per column inch. The advertisement shall be set\nin no larger than seven (7) point type on solid leading. The rate shall not exceed the\nlowest noncontract classified rate paid by advertisers. The terms and conditions of\nany volume discounts given to commercial customers shall be extended to public\nagencies of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Newspapers shall give all local public\nagencies a written notice of at least thirty (30) days of an advertising rate increase.\n(2) If by law or by the nature of the matter to be published, a display form of\nadvertisement is required, or if the person or officer responsible for causing an\nadvertisement to b e published determines in his discretion that a display form is\npracticable or feasible, and so directs the newspaper, the advertisement shall be\npublished in display form and the newspaper shall be entitled to receive its\nestablished display rate.\n(3) If it is provided by statute that an advertisement shall be published of the filing of a\npetition or application seeking official action, the filing, if required by other than a\ngovernmental official or agency, shall not be deemed complete unless there is\ndeposited with the petition or application an amount sufficient to pay the cost of\npublication.\n(4) The expense of advertisements in judicial proceedings shall be taxed as costs by the\nclerk of the court.","path":["KRS Chapter 424"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18252","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:41Z","sha256":"15f1ef112a7c899007eef9e9d7ac934e24353981d6e3cf2384c3a67f27cc3ffd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-424.150","next":"us-ky/krs-424.170"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
