{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-426.590","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 426.590","heading":"Failure to deliver property on forthcoming bond -- Return of officer --","body":"Liability of surety -- Execution for balance due.\n(1) If the defendant in execution fails to pay or replevy the amount of the execution,\nand fails to deliver the property specifie d in the forthcoming bond or other property\nin its place sufficient to satisfy the execution and all costs and commissions, the\nofficer shall return the execution and bond to the office where it was issued and\nendorse on the execution the levy, the giving of the bond, the particular property\nwhich is not forthcoming and all other facts. The surety on the forthcoming bond\nshall be liable only for the value of the property specified in the bond which is not\nforthcoming, with interest thereon from the date of the bond and the accruing costs.\n(2) If the property specified in a forthcoming bond is not of value sufficient to satisfy\nthe execution and all costs and commissions, the proper officer may issue another\nexecution and credit it with the value of the property specified in the bond.","path":["KRS Chapter 426"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18507","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:44Z","sha256":"5117c9faf0fe3ce51541a96ab85171b77a2c23ef4f8b1420f21f80cb634ef195","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-426.580","next":"us-ky/krs-426.600"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
