{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-426.685","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 426.685","heading":"Provisions governing sales by court order of indivisible real property.","body":"(1) Before ordering a sale of real property for the payment of debt, the court must be\nsatisfied by the pleadings, by an agreement of the parties, by affidavits filed, or by a\nreport of a commissioner or commissioners, whether or not the property can be\ndivided without materially impairing its value, and may cause it to be divided, with\nsuitable avenues, streets, lanes or alleys, or without any of them.\n(2) If it be necessary to sell, for the payment of debt, a parcel of real property which can\nnot be divided without materially impairing its value, the officer shall sell the whole\nof it, though it bring more than the sum to be raised, and the court shall make proper\norders for the distribution of the proceeds.","path":["KRS Chapter 426"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18524","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:44Z","sha256":"8862502f6b53a8063fd65e1f5652d679bd4d73ca10ed9c6529f46cbcccc4bf55","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-426.680","next":"us-ky/krs-426.690"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
