{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-43.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 43.010","heading":"Definitions for chapter.","body":"As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Auditor\" means the Auditor of Public Accounts;\n(2) \"Budget unit\" means a department or other unit of organization for which separate\nappropriations are made from those for any other organization unit;\n(3) \"Deputy auditor\" means the deputy auditor of public accounts appointed pursuant to\nKRS 43.030;\n(4) \"Ombudsman\" means the executive director of the Commonwealth Office of the\nOmbudsman appointed pursuant to KRS 43.035;\n(5) \"State agency\" means any state officer, department, board, commission, institution,\ndivision, or other person or functional group that is authorized to exercise or does\nexercise any executive or administrative jurisdiction, powers, duties, rights or\nobligations of the sta te government conferred or imposed by law or exercised,\nperformed, or discharged by legal authority in compliance with law; and\n(6) \"Writing\" or \"written\" means letters, words, or numbers, or their equivalent, set\ndown by handwriting, typewriting, printing , photostating, photographing, magnetic\nimpulse, mechanical or electronic recording, or other form of data compilation.","path":["KRS Chapter 43"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55994","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:03Z","sha256":"23f62a8d29dc84f0fd42c193dbd15338be310017e0e64b86dc2794c44232f5e8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-427.990","next":"us-ky/krs-43.015"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
