{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-431.450","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 431.450","heading":"Uniform citation.","body":"(1) The Department of Kentucky State Police in consultation with the Transportation\nCabinet shall design, print, and distribute to all law enforcement agencies in the\nCommonwealth a uniform citation.\n(2) The citation shall:\n(a) Be approved by the Supreme Court;\n(b) Consist of an original document and five (5) copies;\n(c) Be serially numbered in such a manner that the year of issue and the\nindividual citation number may be readily ascertained; and\n(d) Contain such other information as may be required by the Supreme Court.\n(3) The Circuit Court clerk shall maintain a system of accountability for all citations\nissued in accordance with rules and regulations issued by the Supreme Court to\nassure that citations are not wrongfully destroyed, tampered with, or otherwis e\ncompromised in any manner.\n(4) All peace officers in the Commonwealth shall use the uniform citation for all\nviolations of the traffic laws and for all felonies, misdemeanors, and violations.","path":["KRS Chapter 431"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18622","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:46Z","sha256":"e376296e312190bdff78bf3f4481145e6be9fd9445572ab30f646c437a3d5419","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-431.420","next":"us-ky/krs-431.4505"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
