{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-431.590","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 431.590","heading":"Repayment by convicted defendant of all or part of reward paid by","body":"organization.\n(1) In addition to any other penalty authorized by law, after a defendant has been\nconvicted of an offense, excluding offenses committed under KRS Chapters 186\nand 189, the judge shall order a defendant to repay all or part of a reward paid by a\ncrime stoppers organization.\n(2) In determining the amount the defendant shall repay to a crime stoppers\norganization under subsection (1) of this section, the court shall consider the\nimportance of the information to the prosecution of the defendant as provided by the\narresting officer or the prosecuting attorney with due regard for the confidentiality\nof the crime stoppers organization records.\n(3) In this section, \"crime stoppers organization\" means an organization as defined by\nKRS 431.570.","path":["KRS Chapter 431"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=18646","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:46Z","sha256":"cc35c698b05d63c6bb32bb435d27b49b1113fe908631371af5a4b81d50a92cac","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-431.585","next":"us-ky/krs-431.595"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
