{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-439.354","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 439.354","heading":"Final discharge of paroled prisoner -- Conditions.","body":"(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, when any paroled prisoner has\nperformed the obligations of his or her parole during his or her period of active\nparole supervision the board may, at the termination of such period to be\ndetermined by the board, issue a final discharge from parole to the prisoner. Unless\nordered earlier by the board, a final discharge shall be issued when the prisoner has\nbeen out of prison on parole a sufficient period of time to have been eligible for\ndischarge from pri son by minimum expiration of sentence had he or she not been\nparoled, provided before this date he or she had not absconded from parole\nsupervision or that a warrant for parole violation had not been issued by the board.\n(2) When any paroled prisoner class ified as a violent offender pursuant to KRS\n439.3401, or registered as a sex offender pursuant to KRS 17.500 to 17.580, has\nperformed the obligations of his or her parole, the board shall issue a final discharge\nfrom parole to the prisoner when the prisone r has been out of prison on parole a\nsufficient period of time to have been eligible for discharge from prison by\nmaximum expiration of sentence had he or she not been paroled, provided before\nthis date he or she had not absconded from parole supervision o r that a warrant for\nparole violation had not been issued by the board.","path":["KRS Chapter 439"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19181","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:53Z","sha256":"4ba0b1625d34b0cfd4507778ff050efbf3239fe0721433def6fb36a11883016e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-439.352","next":"us-ky/krs-439.356"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
