{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-441.605","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 441.605","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in KRS 441.610 to 441.695, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Agreement\" means a written contract between the authority and any person, firm,\ncorporation, local government, or public entity providing for the construction,\nreconstruction, improvement or repair and financing of one (1) or more projects of\nthe authority;\n(2) \"Authority\" means the Kentucky Local Correctional Facilities Construction\nAuthority, a body corporate and politic, and an agency and instrumentality of the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky created by KRS 441.615;\n(3) \"Bonds\" mean revenue bonds, notes or other obligations issued under the provisions\nof KRS 441.625;\n(4) \"Cost\" means the expenditures for construction, acquisition, financing charges,\ninterest prior to and during constr uction, principal and interest on any bonds or\nnotes or obligations issued by the authority, engineering and legal expenses, plans,\nspecifications, cost and revenue estimates, other expenses necessary or incidental to\ndetermining the feasibility or practic ability of constructing any project,\nadministrative expenses, and such other expenses necessary or incident to the\nconstruction of and placing into operation a project, the financing of such\nconstruction and the acquisition of the project;\n(5) \"Lease\" mean s a written lease executed by the authority as lessor and any local\ngovernment as lessee;\n(6) \"Project\" means any undertaking to construct, reconstruct, improve, or repair any\njail or appurtenant facilities thereof for any county or urban -county government ,\ntogether with all property, rights, easements and interests which may be acquired by\nthe authority for the construction, reconstruction or repair of any jail or appurtenant\nfacilities; or any undertaking by the authority to finance or refinance, under th e\nprovisions of KRS 441.625, the cost of construction or reconstruction of any jail of\nany county or urban -county government completed and approved by the legislative\nbody thereof since January 1, 1982, provided that such construction or\nreconstruction is in compliance, at the time such financing or refinancing is\napproved, with specifications, standards and requirements which are established by\nthe authority to be made applicable to any undertaking by the authority pursuant to\nKRS 441.625 to 441.695 on or after July 15, 1983;\n(7) \"Jail\" means any county jail and correctional or detention facilities, including\ncorrectional facilities defined in KRS 67B.020 and juvenile detention facilities,\noperated by and under the supervision of any county or urban-county government;\n(8) \"Local government\" means any county or urban-county government.","path":["KRS Chapter 441"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19362","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:55Z","sha256":"a925ff24bcda0439547f40f0eba356892b79aee90b63c23a3c0bbadbe2e72d1a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-441.560","next":"us-ky/krs-441.610"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
