{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-45.570","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 45.570","heading":"Contents of contract.","body":"(1) Except in contracts exempted in accordance with KRS 45.590, all government\ncontracting agencies of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, any county, city, town,\nschool district, water district, hospital district, or other political subdivision of the\nstate shall i nclude in every directly or indirectly publicly funded contract for\nsupplies, materials, services, or equipment hereinafter entered into the following\nprovisions:\n(2) During the performance of this contract, the contractor agrees as follows:\n(a) The contra ctor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for\nemployment because of race, color, religion, sex, age forty (40) and over,\ndisability, veteran status, or national origin;\n(b) The contractor shall take affirmative action in regard to emplo yment,\nupgrading, demotion, transfer, recruitment, recruitment advertising, lay -off,\ntermination, rates of pay or other forms of compensation, and selection for\ntraining, so as to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees\nduring employment are  treated without regard to their race, color, religion,\nsex, age forty (40) and over, disability, veteran status, or national origin;\n(c) The contractor shall state in all solicitations or advertisements for employees\nplaced by or on behalf of the contract or that all qualified applicants shall\nreceive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion,\nsex, age forty (40) and over, disability, veteran status, or national origin;\n(d) The contractor shall post notices in conspicuous places, available to\nemployees and applicants for employment, setting forth the provisions of the\nnondiscrimination clauses required by this section; and\n(e) The contractor shall send a notice to each labor union or representative of\nworkers with which he has a collective bargaining agreement or other contract\nor understanding advising the labor union or workers' representative of the\ncontractor's commitments under the nondiscrimination clauses.","path":["KRS Chapter 45"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22284","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:05Z","sha256":"a48dcd3a9a2f260053a2ae42aba2f129ba04f38eafe032ce8265e3f44b8e6087","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-45.565","next":"us-ky/krs-45.580"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
