{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-455.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 455.200","heading":"Requirements for execution of warrant authorizing entry without notice.","body":"A warrant issued pursuant to KRS 455.180 shall be executed:\n(1) By law enforcement officers who:\n(a) Are members of a special weapons and tactics team or special response team,\nor another established team or unit trained and tasked with resolving high -risk\nsituations and incidents, who have received appropriate training in the\nexecution of arrest and search warrants authorizing entry without notice. In\ncounties having a population of less than ninety thousand (90,000), when,\nafter reasonable inquiry by the  law enforcement officer seeking the warrant,\nmembers of the special weapons and tactics team or special response team are\nnot available to timely execute the warrant and the court finds by clear and\nconvincing evidence that the risks to the health and saf ety of the persons\nexecuting the warrant, the occupants of the premises, or the public are greater\nif the warrant is not timely executed, the court may approve the execution of\nthe warrant without members of a special weapons and tactics team or special\nresponse team;\n(b) Are equipped with body-worn cameras, or, in counties having a population of\nless than ninety thousand (90,000), equipped with other audio -visual or audio\nrecording devices issued by the government, and shall record the entirety of\nthe exec ution of the warrant with a recording device that meets the\nrequirements of this paragraph; and\n(c) Are equipped with clearly visible insignia on any protective equipment or\nclothing that clearly identifies the name of the agency that employs the\nmembers of the special weapons and tactics team or special response team;\n(2) In the presence of a uniformed law enforcement officer; and\n(3) With a certified or licensed paramedic or emergency medical technician in\nproximity and available to provide medical assistance, if needed.","path":["KRS Chapter 455"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51737","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:58Z","sha256":"d4a956ae5437a58cb6c6bf374f9709c2d5844f72b500dde5077ab4dc5bbd9c7d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-455.190","next":"us-ky/krs-456.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
