{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-456.150","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 456.150","heading":"Authentication of foreign protective order.","body":"(1) Upon ex parte review of the foreign protective order and the affidavit filed pursuant\nto KRS 456.140, and after determining the order is entitled to full faith and credit in\nthis Commonwealth pursuant to 18 U.S.C. sec. 2265, the court shall declare the\norder to be authenticated and record the finding on the affidavit.\n(2) If the court declares the order to be authenticated, the court shall:\n(a) Direct the appropriate law enforcement agency to assist the petitioner in\nhaving the provisions of the order complied with, if applicable; and\n(b) Order its enforcement in any county of the Commonwealth in the same\nmanner as an interpersonal protective order of this state issued pursuant to\nKRS 456.060.\n(3) The clerk shall notify the person who filed the foreign prote ctive order of the\ndecision of the court and provide the person a certified copy of the affidavit\ndeclaring the authentication of the order.","path":["KRS Chapter 456"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44781","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:59:59Z","sha256":"038261b3c423206a9ba7c2b15f2c3967757344f97a49d398bae37e82fc93b729","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-456.140","next":"us-ky/krs-456.160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
