{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-45a.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 45A.010","heading":"Construction -- Purposes and policies.","body":"(1) This code shall be liberally construed and applied to promote its underlying\npurposes and policies.\n(2) The underlying purposes and policies of this code shall be:\n(a) To simplify, clarify, and modernize the law governing purchasing by the\nCommonwealth;\n(b) To permit the continued development of purchasing policies and practices;\n(c) To make as consistent as possible the purchasing laws among the various\nstates;\n(d) To provide for increased public confidence in the procedures followed in\npublic procurement;\n(e) To insure the fair and equitable treatment of all persons who deal with the\nprocurement system of the Commonwealth;\n(f) To provide increased economy in state procurement activities by fostering\neffective competition; and\n(g) To provide safeguards for the maintenance of a procurement system of quality\nand integrity.","path":["KRS Chapter 45A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22324","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:06Z","sha256":"029b9fd4a62135ffd8e84ad6cad57e8738676afca7aef43bcc694ff2fcdf1409","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-45a.005","next":"us-ky/krs-45a.015"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
