{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-45a.270","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 45A.270","heading":"Presentation of judgment for payment -- Appropriations.","body":"(1) Each agency which has had an award or judgment against it upon a claim filed\npursuant to KRS 45A.240 to 45A.270 shall furnish a certified copy of the award of\njudgment to the Finance and Administration Cabinet. The first five hundred\nthousand dollars ($500 ,000) of any award or judgment against the Department of\nHighways, Transportation Cabinet, shall be paid out of the state road fund, upon\nwarrants drawn by the secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet upon\nthe State Treasurer. The first five hun dred thousand dollars ($500,000) of any\naward or judgment against other departments or agencies of the state, which are not\nmaintained by appropriations out of the general fund, shall be paid out of the funds\ncreated or collected for the maintenance and op eration of such department or\nagency, upon warrants drawn by the secretary of the Finance and Administration\nCabinet upon the State Treasurer. The first five hundred thousand dollars\n($500,000) of any award or judgment against all other departments and age ncies of\nthe state shall be paid out of the general fund, upon warrants drawn by the secretary\nof the Finance and Administration Cabinet upon the State Treasurer.\n(2) The Finance and Administration Cabinet shall request an appropriation from the\nnext even-numbered-year regular session of the General Assembly for the purpose\nof satisfying all such awards and judgments granted during the preceding two (2)\nfiscal years which are not satisfied under subsection (1) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 45A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22384","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:07Z","sha256":"b4b09bec135ad339eaa8ad876d4e3c9efd43ae17dae2fd2189e9980d0f1940cd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-45a.265","next":"us-ky/krs-45a.275"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
