{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-45a.420","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 45A.420","heading":"Cooperative purchasing -- Price agreements with Commonwealth -- Use of","body":"established pricing method -- School districts.\n(1) Any local public agency may enter into an agreement for cooperative purchasing\nwith any other local public agency. When  the contracting local public agency\ncontracts for supplies, services or construction pursuant to KRS 45A.365, 45A.370,\n45A.375, or 45A.380, all other parties to the agreement shall be deemed to have\ncomplied with the provisions of those sections.\n(2) Nothing in KRS 45A.345 to 45A.990 shall deprive a local public agency from\nnegotiating with vendors for supplies where such supplies are the subject of a price\nagreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky provided, however, that no\ncontract executed under this section would authorize a price higher than is\ncontained in the price agreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky for such\nspecific supplies.\n(3) For agreements that do not establish a fixed unit price, a local public agency may\nmake purchases using an est ablished discount, quote, formula, or other pricing\nmethod as established by the Commonwealth in the agreement. A local public\nagency shall retain records documenting its compliance with the procedures\nrequired in the applicable agreement.\n(4) Nothing in K RS 45A.345 to 45A.990 shall deprive a local school district from\nacquiring supplies outside of price agreements with the Commonwealth of\nKentucky if the supplies meet the same specifications as the contract items and the\nsupplies are purchased at a lower price than is contained in the price agreement with\nthe Commonwealth of Kentucky for such specific supplies and the purchase does\nnot exceed two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500).","path":["KRS Chapter 45A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57308","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:07Z","sha256":"6f0691de636e0de6e51a5d6e2bba37dd38fc54bfcf347903b4c0b588c0d18fba","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-45a.415","next":"us-ky/krs-45a.425"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
