{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-48.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 48.040","heading":"Budget forms -- Projections of actuarially required contribution rates --","body":"Executive branch assistance in preparation of budgets.\n(1) On or before April 1 of each odd -numbered year, representatives designated by the\nGovernor, the Chief Justice, and  the Legislative Research Commission for their\nrespective branches shall propose drafts of uniform forms to be used by all budget\nunits in submitting their budget estimates, requests and recommendations, and shall\nrecommend to the Legislative Research Comm ission such rules and regulations\ndeemed necessary for the preparation of such budget estimates, requests and\nrecommendations.\n(2) On or before June 1 of each odd -numbered year, the Legislative Research\nCommission shall prescribe uniform forms, records, an d instructions to be used by\nbranch budget units. Included in such forms shall be a section requiring budget\nunits to identify the amount of funds to be spent on agency publications.\n(3) (a) On or before August 15 of each odd -numbered year, each of the sta te-\nadministered retirement systems as defined by KRS 6.350(5) shall submit to\nthe state budget director's office and the Legislative Research Commission a\npreliminary projection of the actuarially required contribution rates payable\nfor the budget biennium that begins in the following fiscal year.\n(b) On or before October 1 of each odd -numbered year, the state -administered\nretirement systems as defined by KRS 6.350(5) shall submit revised\nprojections to the state budget director's office and the Legislative  Research\nCommission, based upon the most recently completed actuarial valuation, of\nthe actuarially required contribution rates payable for the budget biennium\nthat begins in the following fiscal year.\n(c) The Legislative Research Commission shall distrib ute the information\nreceived under this subsection to the committee staff and co -chairs of any\ncommittee that has jurisdiction over a state-administered retirement system.\n(4) On or before August 1 of each odd -numbered year, the Finance and Administration\nCabinet shall supply each branch of government with at least three (3) complete\nsets of the prescribed uniform forms and instructions for the preparation of\nestimates and statements, and one (1) copy of the complete statement of the\nexpenditures of each budget unit of the branch to aid each branch of government in\npreparing its estimates and statements.\n(5) Upon request, the Finance and Administration Cabinet shall provide such additional\nassistance to each branch of government as may be required.","path":["KRS Chapter 48"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53515","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:09Z","sha256":"cc99fe1d47e0db98c07d03483f1907d53774881220a1bb79cb61e6b6ef102c85","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-48.030","next":"us-ky/krs-48.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
