{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-48.700","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 48.700","heading":"General fund -- Surplus fund account.","body":"There is hereby created in the general fund of the State Treasury a surplus fund account\nsubject to the following terms and conditions:\n(1) It shall contain all surplus tax receipts accruing to the general fund as provided by\nKRS 48.140(3);\n(2) Except as p rovided in KRS 48.705, it shall contain all funds lapsed from general\nfund receipts not otherwise appropriated;\n(3) It shall contain all receipts from the sale of surplus property purchased with general\nfund tax receipts and not otherwise appropriated;\n(4) Except as provided in KRS 48.705, it shall contain all general fund tax revenues in\nexcess of estimates;\n(5) It shall contain all moneys saved as a result of a reorganization of state government\noperations funded by the general fund;\n(6) Funds in the account shall be invested at interest and the interest shall also accrue to\nthis account;\n(7) It shall contain any other funds which are required by law or regulation to accrue to\nthe surplus account of the general fund; and\n(8) No expenditures shall be made f rom this account unless appropriated by the\nGeneral Assembly or unless required by the budget reduction provisions of a branch\nbudget bill, or as provided by KRS 48.130.","path":["KRS Chapter 48"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22574","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:09Z","sha256":"9575894116c20a7db31b69fa6b8a374c2adaa22a35cee6026855c7640c6fb68a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-48.630","next":"us-ky/krs-48.705"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
