{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-48.950","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 48.950","heading":"Continuous budget information system -- Contents -- Responsibility for.","body":"(1) In order to effectuate the constitutional power and duty of the General Assembly to\nraise and appropriate revenue and approve and adopt a balanced budget, and in\norder that members and committees of the General Assembly and the Legislative\nResearch Commission may be informed on a continuous basis about current and\nprospective financial conditions and budgetary needs of the Commonwealth and its\nbudget units, the Kentucky Gen eral Assembly finds and declares that uniform\ndetailed budget data and records relating to expenditures, receipts and activities and\nthe budgetary operations of all budget units must be available in electronic and print\nform to the General Assembly and the  Legislative Research Commission on a\ncontinuous and timely basis, including the electronic accounting and budgeting\nsystems utilized by all branches of state government such as the Enhanced\nManagement Reporting System and the Kentucky Budgeting System.\n(2) The contents of all electronic and print forms, records, data and procedures\nestablished under KRS 48.955 and 48.960 shall pertain to:\n(a) The submission of budget unit requests and branch budget recommendations;\n(b) The adoption of budget bills;\n(c) The allotments under, and authorized adjustments and revisions to, the\nenacted budget;\n(d) The receipts and disbursements of budget funds pursuant to appropriations\nenacted by the General Assembly; and\n(e) The financial and budgetary conditions of the Commonw ealth and branch\nbudget units.\nThese contents, forms and records shall be standard and uniform for all budget\nunits.\n(3) The Governor, the Chief Justice and the Legislative Research Commission for their\nrespective branches and budget units, shall cause to  be created, maintained and\ntransmitted in electronic form the data, records and procedures necessary to fulfill\nthe intent and purposes of KRS 48.955 and 48.960 and which may be provided by\nKRS 48.955 and 48.960.","path":["KRS Chapter 48"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53521","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:09Z","sha256":"0d8d66cbb609e75f9c85af8502450e1e006442dd9295fb4068617ce0491cb4d6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-48.810","next":"us-ky/krs-48.955"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
