{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-48.955","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 48.955","heading":"System to be prescribed by Legislative Research Commission -- Data","body":"germane to appropriations to be included -- Schedule for transmission of\ninformation -- Availability of data -- Reports.\n(1) The Legislative Research Commission, or its designee, shall prescribe standard\nelectronic and print forms, records, data elements, guidelines, and instructions to be\nused by all branches and budget units. Such electronic and printed detailed records\nshall be made available and transmitted by the heads of each branc h of government,\nor their designees, on a continuous and timely basis, in the form and technology\nused by the General Assembly and the Legislative Research Commission through\nelectronic data processing procedures.\n(2) (a) Representatives designated by the Governor, Chief Justice, and the Legislative\nResearch Commission for their respective branches shall assist, upon request,\nthe Legislative Research Commission in the creation and maintenance of an\nautomated central budget information system which shall con sist of uniform\nelectronic detailed records concerning appropriations, expenditures, receipts,\nand activities;\n(b) This system shall include all data germane to the appropriations of current and\nprospective budgetary resources and funds, including personnel-related data;\n(c) Preliminary work papers shall not be considered germane; however, all\ndocumentation upon which final budget decisions are made shall be\nconsidered germane and shall be included in the system.\n(3) Each branch of government shall transmit  the prescribed forms, records, and\ndetailed data authorized under KRS 48.950 to 48.960 on such schedule and dates as\nmay be determined necessary by the General Assembly, the Legislative Research\nCommission or their appropriations committees or budget review committees.\n(4) The Legislative Research Commission shall make available the contents and data\ncontained on electronic records in the automated central budget information system,\nupon request, to each branch of government.\n(5) At the request of the Gene ral Assembly, the Legislative Research Commission or\ntheir appropriations committees and budget review committees, the Legislative\nResearch Commission shall issue a report, in electronic or print form, on the current\nand prospective budget condition and op erations of the Commonwealth and its\nbranch budget units.","path":["KRS Chapter 48"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22582","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:09Z","sha256":"8a7e06dee0534717290e9eb95036925fada27efa90a25d37184d86907f2bb71b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-48.950","next":"us-ky/krs-48.960"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
