{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-49.170","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 49.170","heading":"Exclusiveness of Board of Claims' award or judgment.","body":"(1) Any action prosecuted to award, judgment, or final decision, including dismissal,\nunder the provisions of KRS 49.040 to 49.180 shall preclude the right of a claimant\nto sue the Commonwealth, its cabinets, departments, bureaus, and agencies, and its\nofficers, agents, or employees in the Board of Claims or any other forum, except as\nprovided in KRS 49.070(5) when the board determines that it has no jurisdiction\nover the claim.\n(2) The final determination of the board shall be given the same res judicata and\ncollateral estoppel effect as any other judicial determination; and, if entered as\nprovided in KRS 49.140, it shall be granted the full faith and credit given to\njudgments from the Commonwealth's courts in this state and the courts of the\nUnited States.","path":["KRS Chapter 49"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51465","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:09Z","sha256":"e157ef0c3bfea1d21d68d201fedb2295d5c4861f42b3f14f9f7c761ae6d76d4d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-49.160","next":"us-ky/krs-49.180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
