{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-49.310","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 49.310","heading":"Eligibility for awards pursuant to KRS 49.270 to 49.490.","body":"(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, the following persons shall be\neligible for awards pursuant to KRS 49.270 to 49.490:\n(a) A victim of criminally injurious conduct;\n(b) A surviving family member or personal representative of a victim of\ncriminally injurious conduct who died as a direct result of the conduct;\n(c) Any other person dependent for his or her principal support upon a victim of\ncriminally injurious conduct who died as a direct result of the crime;\n(d) Any person who is legally responsible for the medical expenses or funeral\nexpenses of a victim; and\n(e) Any person acting as the primary caregiver for a victim of criminally injurious\nconduct.\n(2) No victim or dependent shall be denied compensation solely because he or she is a\nrelative of the offender or was living with the offender as a family or household\nmember at the time of the injury or death.
