{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-504.150","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 504.150","heading":"Sentence for person found guilty but mentally ill -- Petition for ongoing","body":"treatment upon expiration of sentence.\n(1) (a) The court shall sentence a defendant found guilty but mentally ill at the time\nof the offense to the local jail or to the  department in the same manner as a\ndefendant found guilty.\n(b) If the defendant is found guilty but mentally ill, treatment shall be provided\nthe defendant until the treating professional determines that the treatment is\nno longer necessary or until expir ation of his or her sentence, whichever\noccurs first.\n(c) If the treating professional determines that treatment is still necessary upon\nexpiration of the defendant's sentence, the treating professional or the\nCommonwealth shall petition the sentencing court for:\n1. Involuntary hospitalization or admission under KRS Chapter 202A or\n202B; or\n2.
