{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-510.037","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 510.037","heading":"Conviction for rape, sodomy, or sexual abuse or for criminal attempt,","body":"conspiracy, facilitation, or solicitation to commit  any degree of these\ncrimes triggers application for interpersonal protective order.\nThe entering of a judgment of conviction for any degree of rape, sodomy, or sexual\nabuse  under this chapter, or for a criminal attempt, conspiracy, facilitation, or\nsolicitation to commit any degree of rape, sodomy, or sexual abuse, shall operate as\nan application for an interpersonal protective order issued under KRS  Chapter 456,\nunless the victim requests otherwise. Notwithstanding the provisions of KRS Chapter\n456:\n(1) An  interpersonal protective order requested under this subsection may  be\nissued by the court that entered the judgment of conviction;\n(2) The judgment of conviction shall constitute sufficient cause for the entry of the\norder without the necessity of further proof being taken; and\n(3) The  order may be effective for up to ten (10) years, with further renewals in\nincrements of up to ten (10) years.","path":["KRS Chapter 510"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50861","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:01Z","sha256":"c4d09c44f34169fd05b9349242069a51c19e2f329f299d0bad028b2175d1ecf3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-510.035","next":"us-ky/krs-510.040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
