{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-514.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 514.130","heading":"Seizure and forfeiture of certain property.","body":"(1) Upon the conviction of any person for the violation of any offense in this chapter all\nproperty held in violation of this chapter, and any personal property, including but\nnot limited to vehicles or aircraft, used in the commission or furtherance of an\noffense under this chapter or in the transportation of stolen property shall be\nforfeited as provided in KRS 500.090 by court order and sold, destroyed or\notherwise disposed of in accordance with KRS 500.090.\n(2) Possession of a vehicle with a stolen major p art or parts installed thereon shall be\ndeemed to bring the entire vehicle within the provisions of subsection (1) of this\nsection.\n(3) For the purposes of this section a major part of an automobile or other propelled\nvehicle shall mean:\n(a) The engine;\n(b) The frame;\n(c) The transmission;\n(d) The front cap (\"dog house\");\n(e) The front clip;\n(f) The rear clip;\n(g) The top clip;\n(h) The cowl clip;\n(i) A door;\n(j) A truck bed;\n(k) A truck cab; or\n(l) A vehicle body shell.\n(4) It shall be the duty of every peace officer to seize any property which is subject to\nforfeiture under this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 514"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19815","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:02Z","sha256":"558f4a647cdf1a19ec0e648ba9aee2835186bb46bf05bf863df9e6144a0d882c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-514.120","next":"us-ky/krs-514.140"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
