{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-517.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 517.080","heading":"Fraud in insolvency.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of fraud in insolvency when, knowing that proceedings have been\nor are about to be instituted for the appointment of a receiver or other person\nentitled to administer property for the benefit of creditors, or that any other\ncomposition o r liquidation for the benefit of creditors has been or is about to be\nmade, he:\n(a) Destroys, removes, conceals, encumbers, transfers or otherwise deals with any\nproperty with intent to defeat or obstruct the claim of any creditor, or\notherwise to obstruc t the operation of any law relating to administration of\nproperty for the benefit of creditors; or\n(b) Knowingly falsifies any writing or record relating to the property; or\n(c) Knowingly misrepresents or refuses to disclose to a receiver or other person\nentitled to administer property for the benefit of creditors, the existence,\namount or location of the property, or any other information which the actor\nwould be legally required to furnish to such administrator.\n(2) Fraud in insolvency is a Class A misdemeanor.","path":["KRS Chapter 517"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19844","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:02Z","sha256":"2b32f58e29741b7e14732826af663b340dacbe068ba4032b0b821ad75827d255","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-517.070","next":"us-ky/krs-517.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
