{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-519.020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 519.020","heading":"Obstructing governmental operations.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of obstructing governmental operations when he intentionally\nobstructs, impairs or hinders the performance of a governmental function by using\nor threatening to use violence, force or physical interference.\n(2) This section shall not apply to:\n(a) Any means of avoiding compliance with the law without affirmative\ninterference with governmental functions; or\n(b) The obstruction, impairment or hindrance of unlawful action by a public\nservant; or\n(c) The obstruction, impairment or hindrance of an arrest.\n(3) Obstructing governmental operations is a Class A misdemeanor.","path":["KRS Chapter 519"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19859","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:03Z","sha256":"c530a478a9166a1e36dd5a07574613e3cd162a4b336e13243ab798dd4cafdcc3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-519.010","next":"us-ky/krs-519.022"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
