{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-525.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 525.070","heading":"Harassment.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of harassment when, with intent to intimidate, harass, annoy, or\nalarm another person, he or she:\n(a) Strikes, shoves, kicks, or otherwise subjects him to physical contact;\n(b) Attempts or threatens to strike, shove, kick, or otherwise s ubject the person to\nphysical contact;\n(c) In a public place, makes an offensively coarse utterance, gesture, or display, or\naddresses abusive language to any person present;\n(d) Follows a person in or about a public place or places;\n(e) Engages in a cours e of conduct or repeatedly commits acts which alarm or\nseriously annoy such other person and which serve no legitimate purpose; or\n(f) Being enrolled as a student in a local school district, and while on school\npremises, on school-sponsored transportation, or at a school-sponsored event:\n1. Damages or commits a theft of the property of another student;\n2. Substantially disrupts the operation of the school; or\n3. Creates a hostile environment by means of any gestures, written\ncommunications, oral statements,  or physical acts that a reasonable\nperson under the circumstances should know would cause another\nstudent to suffer fear of physical harm, intimidation, humiliation, or\nembarrassment.\n(2) (a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this subsection, harassm ent is a\nviolation.\n(b) Harassment, as defined in paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of this section, is a\nClass B misdemeanor.","path":["KRS Chapter 525"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19926","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:04Z","sha256":"300f840314dbac26211c5c0aed1cdcf31447ecfc463a8c683fd23fb146d79238","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-525.060","next":"us-ky/krs-525.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
