{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-525.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 525.080","heading":"Harassing communications.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of harassing communications when, with intent to intimidate,\nharass, annoy, or alarm another person, he or she:\n(a) Communicates with a person, anonymously or otherwise, by telephone,\ntelegraph, mail, or any other form of electronic or w ritten communication in a\nmanner which causes annoyance or alarm and serves no purpose of legitimate\ncommunication;\n(b) Makes a telephone call, whether or not conversation ensues, with no purpose\nof legitimate communication; or\n(c) Communicates, while enro lled as a student in a local school district, with or\nabout another school student, anonymously or otherwise, by telephone, the\nInternet, telegraph, mail, or any other form of electronic or written\ncommunication in a manner which a reasonable person under the\ncircumstances should know would cause the other student to suffer fear of\nphysical harm, intimidation, humiliation, or embarrassment and which serves\nno purpose of legitimate communication.\n(2) Harassing communications is a Class B misdemeanor.","path":["KRS Chapter 525"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45228","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:04Z","sha256":"b2d0dce85176fae38bdf64fc1f5cc9710da1aa197e9e53645f903fdf26a218c4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-525.070","next":"us-ky/krs-525.085"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
