{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-525.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 525.090","heading":"Loitering.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of loitering when the person:\n(a) Loiters or remains in a public place for the purpose of gambling with cards,\ndice, or other gambling paraphernalia, except that the provisions of this\nsection shall not apply if the person is participating in charitable gaming\ndefined by KRS 238.505, or is  engaged in sports wagering, fantasy contests,\nfixed-odds wagering, or wagering on live horse races and historical horse\nraces licensed under KRS Chapter 230;\n(b) Loiters or remains in a public place for the purpose of unlawfully using a\ncontrolled substance;\n(c) Loiters or remains in or about a school, college, or university building or\ngrounds, not having any reason or relationship involving custody of or\nresponsibility for a pupil or student or any other specific legitimate reason for\nbeing there and not  having written permission from anyone authorized to\ngrant the same; or\n(d) Loiters or remains in any transportation facility, unless specifically authorized\nto do so, for the purpose of soliciting or engaging in any business, trade, or\ncommercial transactions involving the sale of merchandise or services.\n(2) Loitering is a violation.","path":["KRS Chapter 525"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58125","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:04Z","sha256":"276ac880a638148d6550a27a62c09018e33bcc75e0e9f3a00d16af5fd4a0073b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-525.085","next":"us-ky/krs-525.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
