{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-525.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 525.140","heading":"Obstructing a highway or other public passage.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of obstructing a highway or other public passage when having no\nlegal privilege to do so he, alone or with other persons, intentionally or wantonly\nrenders any highway or public passage impassable without unreasonable\ninconvenience or hazard.\n(2) No person shall be convicted under this section solely because of a gathering of\npersons to hear him speak or otherwise communicate or solely because of being a\nmember of such a gathering.\n(3) An order to disperse issued by a peace officer or o ther public servant engaged in\nexecuting or enforcing the law and addressed to a person whose speech or other\nlawful behavior attracts an obstructing audience shall not be deemed lawful if the\nobstruction can be readily remedied by police control of the si ze or location of the\ngathering.\n(4) Obstructing a highway or other public passage is a Class B misdemeanor.","path":["KRS Chapter 525"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=19938","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:04Z","sha256":"f5f0cfc5db1bd9825a902c881a61856929fc70a68bd2f89c0f0c15e11dba3f68","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-525.137","next":"us-ky/krs-525.145"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
