{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-530.064","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 530.064","heading":"Unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree when\nhe or she knowingly induces, assists, or causes a minor to engage in:\n(a) Illegal sexual activity; or\n(b) Illegal controlled substances activity other than  activity involving\nmarijuana or salvia, as defined in KRS 218A.010;\nExcept those offenses involving minors in KRS  Chapter 531 and in KRS\n529.100 where that offense involves commercial sexual activity.\n(2) Unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree is a:\n(a) Class C felony if the minor so used is less than eighteen (18) years old at\nthe time the minor engages in the prohibited activity;\n(b) Class B felony if the minor so used is less than sixteen (16) years old at\nthe time the minor engages in the prohibited activity; and\n(c) Class A felony if the minor so used incurs physical injury thereby.","path":["KRS Chapter 530"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44894","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:05Z","sha256":"1e657262f6cb2c48b3a2b6ccad14c11c007c3d18ef413a798ab7b59797967ac5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-530.060","next":"us-ky/krs-530.065"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
