{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-530.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 530.070","heading":"Unlawful transaction with minor in the third degree.","body":"(1) A person is guilty of unlawful transaction with a minor in the third degree when:\n(a) Acting other than as a retail licensee, he knowingly sells, gives, purchases or\nprocures any alcoholic or malt beverage in any form to or for a minor. The\ndefendant may p rove in exculpation that the sale was induced by the use of\nfalse, fraudulent, or altered identification papers or other documents and that\nthe appearance and character of the purchaser were such that his age could not\nhave been ascertained by any other me ans and that the purchaser's appearance\nand character indicated strongly that he was of legal age to purchase alcoholic\nbeverages. This subsection does not apply to a parent or guardian of the\nminor;\n(b) He knowingly induces, assists, or causes a minor to engage in any other\ncriminal activity;\n(c) He knowingly induces, assists or causes a minor to become a habitual truant;\nor\n(d) He persistently and knowingly induces, assists or causes a minor to disobey\nhis parent or guardian.\n(2) Unlawful transaction with a minor in the third degree is a Class A misdemeanor.","path":["KRS Chapter 530"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20003","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:05Z","sha256":"c4db4cc9731bd99461be41b7cc38d482ad0f97e1689d62f91fa337951000e885","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-530.065","next":"us-ky/krs-530.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
