{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-534.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 534.050","heading":"Fines against corporations.","body":"(1) For an offense defined in this code a corporation convicted of an offense may be\nsentenced to pay a fine in an amount not to exceed:\n(a) For a felony of any class, $20,000; or\n(b) For a Class A misdemeanor, $10,000; or\n(c) For a Class B misdemeanor, $5,000; or\n(d) For a violation, $500; or\n(e) Double the amount of the defendant's gain from commission of the offense,\nwhichever is the greater.\n(2) For an offense defined outside this code for which no special corporate fine is\nspecified, a corporation convicted of an offense may be sentenced to pay a fine in an\namount not to exceed:\n(a) $20,000, if the offense when committed by an individual has an authorized\nterm of imprisonment in the penitentiary; or\n(b) $10,000, if the offense when committed by an individua l has an authorized\nterm of imprisonment of not less than ninety (90) days nor more than twelve\n(12) months; or\n(c) $5,000, if the offense when committed by an individual has an authorized\nterm of imprisonment of less than ninety (90) days; or\n(d) $500, if the offense when committed by an individual has no authorized term\nof imprisonment; or\n(e) Double the amount of the defendant's gain from commission of the offense,\nwhichever is the greater.\n(3) For an offense defined outside this code for which a special  corporate fine is\nspecified, a corporation convicted of the offense may be sentenced to pay a fine in\nthe amount specified in the law that defines the offense.","path":["KRS Chapter 534"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20100","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:06Z","sha256":"8a2399ab092e10bd2b0b22928a067b43447eb2c2480eff8602686247072e0519","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-534.045","next":"us-ky/krs-534.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
