{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-56.005","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 56.005","heading":"Composting and use of composted materials by state agencies.","body":"To the maximum extent practicable all state agencies responsible for the maintenance of\npublic lands in the Commonwealth shall do the following:\n(1) Compost on those public lands grass clippings, leaves, and other yard waste\ncollected at state and local government facilities;\n(2) Use and make available for other state agencies' use, those materials composted on\nstate lands for projects including, but not limited to, roadway construction,\nreconstruction, or maintenance, restoration of sites including abandon ed mine lands\nreclamation, stream bank stabilization, and reforestation; and\n(3) Give preference, when making purchases of materials, to the use of compost for\nland maintenance activities according to procurement procedures set out in KRS\n45A.520.","path":["KRS Chapter 56"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22584","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:10Z","sha256":"39ce2bf2927aa7ced0a7f8ec24892791245ae2b745da3a82cc75485ec6e8f236","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-534.070","next":"us-ky/krs-56.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
