{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-56.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 56.070","heading":"Finance and Administration Cabinet to determine state property to be","body":"insured through Commonwealth's property and casualty insurance fund --\nExceptions.\n(1) The cabinet shall:\n(a) Determine which state property shall be insured against loss by fi re and other\nhazards; and\n(b) Insure with a responsible company or companies authorized to do business in\nKentucky all property financed under a statutory amortization plan, to the\nextent of the lien indebtedness upon the property or to the extent of its\nreasonable value, whichever is the lesser.\n(2) Any officer or agent of the state having control or custody of any property\nbelonging to or controlled or used by the state or any agency of the state may, with\nthe approval of the secretary of the cabinet, fro m the funds allotted to such agency,\npurchase insurance of an additional kind or kinds which cannot properly be covered\nin the Commonwealth's property and casualty insurance fund.","path":["KRS Chapter 56"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56045","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:10Z","sha256":"7a84ab0acc135a676b7068fcbfc6d85c9cf2eafa685d897f2c104f4fc5ece229","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-56.065","next":"us-ky/krs-56.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
