{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-56.775","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 56.775","heading":"Required high -performance building standards -- Use of energy -efficiency","body":"products.\nTo improve energy efficiency throughout state government, the cabinet and universities\nthat manage their own capital construction projects under KRS 164A.580 shall:\n(1) Beginning July 1, 2009, require that all construction or renovation of public\nbuildings for which fifty percent (50%) or more of the total capital cost is paid by\nthe Commonwealth shall be designed and constructed, or renovated, to meet the\nhigh-performance building standards established in KRS 56.777. This subsection\napplies to all projects that have not entered the design phase prior to January 1,\n2009;\n(2) Require that all building leases entered into by the Commonwealth or any of its\nagencies on and aft er July 1, 2018, shall meet the high -performance building\nstandards. From July 15, 2008 and prior to July 1, 2018, a building that meets the\nhigh-performance building standards established in this section shall be given a\npreference in the state leasing pr ocess over other buildings that do not meet the\nhigh-performance building standards; and\n(3) Incorporate ENERGY STAR-qualified products in state agency procurements to the\nextent economically feasible using a life-cycle cost analysis.","path":["KRS Chapter 56"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22687","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:11Z","sha256":"2876861707081b91429ef90d47229433df11aafc7742a0961b270263c72b8d0a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-56.774","next":"us-ky/krs-56.776"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
