{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-58.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 58.200","heading":"Restroom requirements for certain public buildings used for specified","body":"purposes.\n(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Public building\" means a building, or a portion thereof, with a capacity of ten\nthousand (10,000) or more people, owned or leased by a sta te or local\ngovernmental agency, as defined in KRS 58.010, in which the general public\ncongregates to observe or participate in arts, sports, entertainment, and other\ntypes of assembly uses as defined by the Kentucky building code;\n(b) \"Restroom facility\" means a toilet, chemical toilet, or water closet; and\n(c) \"Newly-constructed public building\" means:\n1. A new public building;\n2. A new addition to or expansion of an existing public building; or\n3. The altered or renovated portion of an existing public bu ilding if the\nalteration or renovation requires more than fifty percent (50%) of the\nfloor area of the entire building to be rebuilt. Cosmetic work, including\npainting, wall covering, wall paneling, floor covering, or suspended\nceiling work, shall not be considered an alteration or renovation.\n(2) Any newly-constructed public building shall be equipped with twice the number of\nrestroom facilities for use by women as it provides restroom facilities for use by\nmen.
