{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-58.410","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 58.410","heading":"Definitions for KRS 58.410 to 58.440.","body":"(1) As used in KRS 58.410 to 58.440, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(a) \"Public body\" means the Commonwealth, its political subdivisions, its\nmunicipalities, its school and other taxing districts, its nontaxing public\nbodies and institutions, and any and all agencies and instrumentalities thereof,\nwhether such agencies or instrumentalities be now existing or hereafter\ncreated and established under and pursuant to specific statutory authority, or\nwhether such agencies or instrumentalities be now existing  or hereafter\norganized, established, and caused to exist as nonprofit corporations under\napplicable general laws, having performance as such agencies or\ninstrumentalities as their sole corporate purposes;\n(b) \"Public obligation\" means bonds, notes, warran ts, or other obligations of any\npublic body;\n(c) \"Rate of interest\" means both the coupon or stated interest rate applicable to\nany public obligation, and the effective interest rate or interest cost\npercentage, computed upon the basis of the coupon or sta ted interest rate or\nrates and the price actually to be received by the issuing public body;\nprovided, however, KRS 58.410 to 58.440 is not intended, and shall not be\nconstrued, to amend, alter, or repeal any existing law requiring that certain\npublic obligations be sold at not less than the face amount thereof.\n(2) KRS 58.410 to 58.440 does not relate to or affect borrowing by any person or\ncorporation except such as are within the definition of \"public body\" as set forth in\nthis section.","path":["KRS Chapter 58"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22852","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:13Z","sha256":"cc4ac8ca5c833a0e7ec6b636e39c71c4206f74975c21f2513be6eefef3a6b2a2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-58.315","next":"us-ky/krs-58.420"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
