{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-58.600","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 58.600","heading":"Definitions for KRS 58.600 to 58.610.","body":"As used in KRS 58.600 to 58.610, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Energy conservation revenue bonds\" or \"bonds\" means securities issued by a local\npublic agency in accordance with the provisions of KRS 58.600 to 58.610 to pay for\nenergy conservation measures under guaranteed energy savings contracts;\n(2) \"Energy conservation measure\" means a facility alteration designed to reduce\nenergy consumption or operating costs, and may include one (1) or more of the\nfollowing:\n(a) Insulation of building structure or systems within buildings;\n(b) Storm windows or doors, caulking or weatherstripping, multiple pane\nwindows or doors, heat absorbing or heat reflective glazing for windows and\ndoors, additional glazing, reductions in glass area or other window and  door\nsystems modifications that reduce energy consumption;\n(c) Automated or computerized energy control systems;\n(d) Heating, ventilating, or air conditioning system modifications or\nreplacements;\n(e) Replacement or modification of lighting fixtures to in crease energy efficiency\nof the lighting system without increasing the overall illumination of the\nbuilding, unless an increase in illumination is necessary to conform to\napplicable state or local building codes for the lighting system after the\nproposed modifications are made;\n(f) Energy recovery systems;\n(g) Cogeneration systems that produce steam or forms of energy such as heat as\nwell as electricity for use primarily within a building or complex of buildings;\n(h) Energy conservation measures that provid e long -term operating cost\nreductions; or\n(i) Any life safety measures that provide long-term operating cost reductions;\n(3) \"Local public agency\" means a city, county, charter county, urban -county, school\ndistrict, special district, or an agency formed by  a combination of these agencies\nunder KRS Chapter 79;\n(4) \"Capital cost avoidance\" has the same definition as in KRS 45A.345; and\n(5) \"Guaranteed energy savings contract\" has the same definition as in KRS 45A.345.","path":["KRS Chapter 58"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22866","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:13Z","sha256":"46e6aa8bf3187bc1d476df1e8b2dd15ed7060bed43c2a3579d71f26837e3ecfa","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-58.590","next":"us-ky/krs-58.605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
