{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-6.716","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 6.716","heading":"Current issues seminars for legislators and legislative employees.","body":"(1) The commission shall design the general curriculum of a current issues seminar,\nwhich shall include, but not be limited to, discussion of changes in the ethics laws\nand administrative regulations, new advisory opinions, current ethical issues\nconfronting p ublic servants, practical application of ethics laws and principles to\nspecific issues and situations, and development of problem -solving skills. The\ncommission shall prepare the methods and materials necessary to implement the\ncurriculum.\n(2) The commission shall:\n(a) Administer the current issues seminars for legislators and training for\nemployees of the legislative branch of state government;\n(b) Designate instructors to conduct their current issues courses who shall be\ntrained by the commission; and\n(c) Notify legislators regarding attendance in these seminars.\n(3) The current issues seminars for legislators shall be conducted in January of each\nyear. Each course shall be at least two (2) hours in length and shall be designed for\napproval by the Kentucky  Bar Association for continuing legal education ethics\ncredits which the bar association may require.\n(4) To facilitate participant interaction, those portions of the seminars dedicated to\ngroup participation may be closed to the public.\n(5) Each legislator, after completion of an orientation training course, shall complete\none (1) current issues seminar annually.","path":["KRS Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50483","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:25Z","sha256":"b4363555a7a887d2db34fd3fbc4c977ca86ef245907cb905217725dd9e8dd5da","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-6.711","next":"us-ky/krs-6.731"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
