{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-6.737","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 6.737","heading":"Prohibition against certain contracts with state agency -- Penalty.","body":"A legislator or candidate by himself, or through others, shall not intentionally undertake,\nexecute, hold, or enjoy, in whole or in part, any contract, agreement, sale, or purchase of\nthe value of one hundred dollars ($100) or more per transaction, made, e ntered into,\nawarded, or granted by any state agency, except:\n(1) Contracts, agreements, sales, or purchases between a state agency and a business in\nwhich the legislator and his spouse, collectively, own or control an interest of five\npercent (5%) or less;\n(2) Contracts, agreements, sales, or purchases made or let after public notice and\ncompetitive bidding;\n(3) Contracts, agreements, sales, or purchases which are available on similar terms to\nmembers of the legislator's business, occupation, or profession; or\n(4) Contracts or agreements entered into prior to the time the legislator became a\ncandidate.\nViolation of this section is a Class D felony, and the court upon conviction may void the\ncontract, agreement, sale, or purchase violating this provision.","path":["KRS Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=368","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:25Z","sha256":"062718ed6c282f4d0587bd3f968d09b8d4e838fe314c4f06455e2347b77cca6a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-6.734","next":"us-ky/krs-6.741"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
