{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-6.829","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 6.829","heading":"Commission's duties with respect to legislative lobbying.","body":"(1) The commission shall review each registration statement, expenditure statement,\nand financial transaction statement filed with the commission, to determine whether\nthe statement includes all the information required. If the statement does not include\nall the required information, or a legislative agent or employer has failed to file a\nregistration statement, the commission shall send notification by certified mail to\nthe person who filed the statement regarding the deficiency in the statement, or to\nthe per son who failed to file the statement regarding that failure. Any person so\nnotified by the commission shall, not later than ten (10) days after receiving the\nnotice, file a registration statement or an amended statement that does include all\nthe information required.\n(2) The commission shall keep on file the statements required by KRS 6.807, 6.821,\nand 6.824. Those statements are public records and open to public inspection, and\nthe commission shall computerize them so that the information contained in them  is\nreadily accessible to the general public. The commission shall provide copies of the\nstatements to the general public upon request and may charge a reasonable fee not\nto exceed the cost of copying each statement.\n(3) The commission shall prescribe and make available an appropriate form for filing\nthe information required by KRS 6.807, 6.821, and 6.824. The form shall contain\nthe following notices in boldface type: \"ANY PERSON WHO KNOWINGLY\nFILES A FALSE STATEMENT IS IN VIOLATION OF STATE LAW AND\nSUBJECT TO FINES AND OTHER PENALTIES.\"\n(4) The commission shall publish a handbook that explains this code in clear and\nconcise language, and make it available free of charge to members of the General\nAssembly, legislative agents, employers, and any other interested persons.\n(5) On or before the fifteenth day of February of each year, the commission shall, in a\nmanner and form it determines, publish a report containing statistical information\non the registration statements filed with it during the preceding year.\n(6) Any regulations promulgated by the commission to implement this code shall be\nadopted in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A.","path":["KRS Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=408","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:25Z","sha256":"47b5adef79de77a9cfb3d798cc7992ec16c381c36df40c8ab31e9da7a27a685f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-6.827","next":"us-ky/krs-6.849"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
