(Effective until January 1, 2027)\n(1) There is created a Legislative Oversight and Investigations Committee which shall\nbe a permanent standing  committee of the General Assembly, consisting of eight\n(8) members of the Senate, six (6) of whom shall be appointed by the President and\ntwo (2) of whom shall be appointed by the Minority Leader of the Senate, and eight\n(8) members of the House of Repres entatives, six (6) of whom shall be appointed\nby the Speaker and two (2) of whom shall be appointed by the Minority Leader of\nthe House of Representatives. At least one (1) appointee by each appointive\nauthority shall be a member of the Senate or House Sta nding Committee on\nAppropriations and Revenue.\n(2) The President and the Speaker shall each appoint a co -chair and vice chair from\ntheir respective bodies. The co-chairs shall have joint responsibilities for committee\nmeeting agendas and presiding at committee meetings. On an alternating basis, each\nco-chair shall have the first option to set the monthly meeting date. A monthly\nmeeting may be canceled by agreement of both co -chairs. A majority of the entire\nmembership of the Legislative Oversight and Invest igations Committee shall\nconstitute a quorum, and all actions of the committee shall be by vote of a majority\nof its entire membership.\n(3) Each member of the committee shall receive the same travel allowances and\ncompensation for attending interim meeting s of the committee as are received by\nmembers of subcommittees of the Legislative Research Commission under KRS\n7.090(3).\nEffective: March 12, 2021","path":["KRS Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50690","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:25Z","sha256":"61569d76be4e03dc58b81e63683e3989768bf96661a4902d31a8d741fbf24156","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-6.900","next":"us-ky/krs-6.910"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
