{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-6.912","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 6.912","heading":"Enforcement of committee subpoenas  -- Penalty for failure to comply.","body":"(1) Any  witness who fails to comply with a subpoena issued pursuant to KRS\n6.910 may be fined by the committee an amount not to exceed one hundred\ndollars ($100) per day, up to a maximum  total fine of one thousand dollars\n($1,000). The committee shall have the authority to enforce compliance with\nsubpoenas, including holding the noncompliant witness in contempt of the\nGeneral Assembly which includes any action that could be taken by a Circuit\nCourt to enforce compliance with a subpoena issued pursuant to the authority\nof a Kentucky Court of Justice. Upon petition by the committee, any Circuit\nCourt within the jurisdiction of which any inquiry is being carried on or having\njurisdiction over the witness may, in case of refusal to obey a subpoena or\norder of the committee, issue an order requiring compliance. Any failure to\nobey the order of the court may be punished by the court as contempt thereof\nin addition to any other duly authorized punishment.\n(2) The Circuit Court shall render a final judgement within forty-five (45) days from\nthe date:\n(a) When  the petition was filed by the committee; or\n(b) Of the commencement  of any action or motion by any witness seeking to\nquash  or otherwise resist compliance with a subpoena issued by the\ncommittee.","path":["KRS Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50696","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:25Z","sha256":"bf152cdaa9df31afb63a5364fc7f1e96e8e27aa72de4ae2513f4b34efba542c9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-6.910","next":"us-ky/krs-6.915"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
