{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-6.965","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 6.965","heading":"Contents of fiscal note -- State mandate determination -- Copies to be","body":"furnished to local officials.\n(1) A fiscal note shall state whether the bill or order is determined to be a state\nmandate. Such determination shall be made by the director of the Leg islative\nResearch Commission except as provided by subsection (2) of this section. If the\nbill or order is a state mandate, the note shall contain an estimate of the effect the\nlaw will have on expenditures or revenues of local government for the first ful l\nfiscal year the law is to be in effect.\n(2) The director, at his discretion, may seek a certification from the Attorney General\non the question of whether a bill or order constitutes a state mandate. The Attorney\nGeneral shall, within seven (7) working d ays from receipt of the request, certify to\nthe director that the bill or order is or is not a state mandate.\n(3) If any bill or order is amended after the preparation of the fiscal note, it shall be\nresubmitted to the person responsible for preparation of  the note who shall\nreevaluate the bill or order as amended and change the fiscal note in accordance\ntherewith.\n(4) Copies of the fiscal note shall be furnished by the Legislative Research Commission\nto any local official upon written request.","path":["KRS Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=425","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:26Z","sha256":"c8eb0e9e3b8a1514a36f2ccbac2f983549a7c02d2385551f329d821340920226","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-6.960","next":"us-ky/krs-6.970"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
