{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-605.095","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 605.095","heading":"Department of Juvenile Justice to operate postadjudication facilities and","body":"programs -- Transfer of juveniles to Department of Corrections facilities.\n(1) The Department of Juvenile Justice shall operate or contract for the operation of any\npostadjudication juvenile detention or treatment facility in which a juvenile is\nconfined for a public offense or as a youthful offender.\n(2) Not less than one (1) facility specified in subsection (1) of this section shall be a\nsecure facility with a security level comparable to a medium-security adult facility.\n(3) The Department of Juvenile Justice shall operate or contract for the operation of any\npostadjudication juvenile treatment, rehabilitation, probation, or parole programs,\ndiversion or alternatives to secure detention programs, or other programs for\njuvenile offenders to which a juvenile committed as a public offender or sentenced\nas a youthful offender has been assigned.\n(4) A juvenile detained in a department -operated postadjudication detention or\ntreatment facility may be transferred to a Department of Corrections facility at any\ntime as provided by KRS 640.070 or other specific statute.","path":["KRS Chapter 605"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20118","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:06Z","sha256":"659c7029799ab4107e5881d4bc80cf0c50cdb964a9e695b9e3fc540fd104976b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-605.093","next":"us-ky/krs-605.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
