{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-605.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 605.130","heading":"General duties of cabinet.","body":"In addition to the other duties, functions, and responsibilities imposed by law, the cabinet,\nthrough its authorized representatives, shall have general supervision and management of\nall matters contained in KRS 620.150 and 620.170 and shall, wherever possible:\n(1) Locate and plan for all children who are dependent, neglected, or abused;\n(2) Cooperate with and assist the courts of the various counties;\n(3) Assist Circuit Courts through services to children whenever requested by the court.\nThe cabinet may ch arge a reasonable fee for such services to be taxed as costs by\nthe court;\n(4) Track and report to the oversight council created in KRS 15A.063 the number of\nreferrals received, the number of investigations made upon those referrals, and the\nnumber and type of petitions filed in response;\n(5) Identify all youth who have status offense charges and are committed or probated to\nthe cabinet and report the number of committed and probated youth to the oversight\ncouncil created in KRS 15A.063; and\n(6) Perform suc h other services as may be deemed necessary for the protection of\nchildren.","path":["KRS Chapter 605"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57490","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:07Z","sha256":"f33f98bca37efbec5b24fdc56123a588a29188af9ad3c74c2cf1e1a0c7a0d8a6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-605.121","next":"us-ky/krs-605.135"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
